Ryan "Damn I'm Fine" Reynolds! Congrats! He beat out Bradley Cooper and Justin Timberlake for this role. Any of the pics would be great eye candy, but I think Ryan is a fine choice! The movie won't be out until Summer 2011, but in the meantime enjoy the sexiness that is Ryan "Why the f*ck did I marry Scarlet HO-hansson" Reynolds.

Review: Next Day Air

New movie Next Day Air came out last weekend and me and my homegirl Erica checked it out. Um, keep your money. I expected it to be hilarious because Mike Epps was in it, but ugh. It was half funny. I was delighted and surprised at the fact that it took place in Philly, but the jokes were recycled and the acting wasn't the greatest. This is a DVD movie at best.

Review: The Soloist

I checked out The Soloist this weekend. Jamie Foxx needs and Oscar. He was amazing. The movie was great. Inspiring, sad, funny - it really pulls at your heart strings. Robert Downey, Jr. was great as well and I must say he was looking quite sexy. He wasn't sashaying like he usually is. Great story, great acting, great cinematography. Definitely a must see. Tribeca Film Festival

So, I had the honor and pleasure of attending the Tribeca Film Festival last night. Me and my friend went to see 'The Girlfriend Experience'. The movie, shot documentary style, was about the life of an upscale call girl. Apparently this movie was the most anticipated film of the festival. It was directed by Steven Soderbergh (Oceans 11) and starred a well known porn star, Sasha Grey. Um, this movie was weird and whack from the start. It kept going in and out between stories. Very confusing most of the actors weren't great especially the main chick. I was not impressed and do not understand what all this buzz is about. I want my $17.75 back thank you. This viewer summed it up best:

It was awful...It was an incoherent boring mess and was very disappointed.

I did, however, enjoy just being there and had a great time. I just wish I'd picked a better movie.

'Fighting' Movie Review

I had the fantastical privilege of having advance screening tickets to see new movie 'Fighting' starring baby's father #1, Channing Tatum. Besides the fact that it was uberly hot getting to stare at him for almost 2 hours, the movie was actually good. Though not for those with weak stomachs. Watching people get beat down and hearing the sounds of that beatation can be nauseating at times. I thought the plot was good, acting was pretty good, casting was good and the numerous shirtless and wife beater scenes of Channing were absolutely amazing. Terence Howard, however, pissed me off. I don't know what they were trying to do with his voice, but they got that ish all wrong. He sounded like a pimp on valium. Six thumbs down on Terence's voice but other than that, I thought the movie was great. Definitely a must see. The grandma steals the show. Damn if she don't remind me of my grams. Hey grams!

My rating: 3 out of 4 hand claps.

'The Watchmen' ...my review

I left the theater this weekend SMH and saying WTF. 'The Watchmen' was, well...interesting.

What I loved about it:

It was too long, too confusing and just a mess. Very disappointing. Not what I expected at all. Bring on Iron Man 2, Mickey Rourke and all.

Iron Man 2: OH HELL NAW

WTF? Why they gotta go and ruin 'Iron Man'. The first Iron Man was just fine. In fact it was just great. Now muthafathers want to be all up in the koolaid mixing up ish. WHY IN GOD's NAME is Mickey "I can't look at his face for 2 hrs" Rourke and Scarlett "I'm a whore" Johansson have to be in the movie???? Hopefully Mickey will have a mask on and Scarlett will be some ho in the back. UGH, Please Marvel, don't ruin this franchise.

New swirl movie: 'I Love You Man'

There's a new swirl movie out on March 20 starring cutie pie Paul Rudd. 'I Love You Man' stars Jason Segel, Paul Rudd, Andy "I love you" Sanmberg and Rashida Jones. Rashida and Paul are together in the movie, hence the swirl. Oh yes, for those of you that don't know Rashida - you may know her from 'The Office' - is Quincy Jones' daughter. Yup, she 1/2 black which in America means, she Black. So yay to the swirlation. Peep the trailer below.

Madea Goes to Jail

First, I am so proud that Madea was #1 at the box office this weekend grossing an amazing $41 Million. Thank you for not bootlegging (as much). Second, let me say I looooove Tyler Perry. I love everything he stands for and I've loved all his plays and movies. Did I enjoy Madea Goes to Jail? Yes. Did I laugh? Yes. Did I enjoy the message? Yes. Could it have been much, much better? Yes. I found it to be too cliche. Too much like the rest of his movies and I didn't find most of the jokes funny. But, the jokes I did laugh at had me dying. I'm not saying it was bad, I'm just saying it wasn't that good. I expected more from Mr. Perry. By all means please go see it, especially if you're a Tyler Perry fan, because if nothing else it will move you. I had a few "God is talking to me" moments, which made up for the "already done before" jokes. And if you do see it, let me know your thoughts?


Side note: Tyler you have made millions of dollars. Don't you think its time to upgrade the cinematography so that it doesn't look like its shot by Tyrone and dem from the block? I'm just saying.
